Unwed teen held for throwing newborn girl from third-floor

KUALA LUMPUR: An unwed teenager tossed her newborn baby girl out of a third-floor flat unit, minutes after giving birth to the child in a toilet.
The infant fell into a drain at the bottom of the building at the Taman Selayang Segar Dua flats, near here.
At 7am yesterday, a resident about to leave for work was shocked to find the dead baby without any clothes and with the umbilical cord still attached.

Neighbours called the police, who rushed to the flat, and after some investigations at each unit, found and detained the teenager at 9.30am.
The teenager admitted she had given birth to the baby at 4am, but claimed the child was stillborn.
“We believe she may have panicked and decided to toss her baby out,” said Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rahim Abdullah.
The case is being investigated under Section 318 of the Penal Code for concealment of birth by burying a dead foetus, which carries a jail term of up to two years or fine or both.
The baby's body has been sent to the Selayang Hospital for a post mortem.
The teenager, who worked at a restaurant in Bandar Baru Selayang, has also been admitted there for medical examination.
She is weak after losing a lot of blood.
The teenager shares a flat, in the four-storey building, with eight other restaurant trainee staff, including four Indonesians.
In a separate case, a newborn baby girl, still covered in blood and the umbilical cord attached, was found alive in a small duffel bag outside a private clinic along Jalan Ipoh at 4.30pm yesterday.
A visitor to the clinic notified the staff before a doctor checked on her.
The clinic staff later lodged a police report at the Sentul police station. She was eventually handed over to staff at Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

Our group opinion: We think, the girl throw the new born baby because she don't want to be responsible to the baby and feel shy because have baby before marriege. The girl also scared of their family, so that she plan to throw the innocent baby, but we think what the girl doing is wrong, because she kill a baby, who is her own blood.
